What is your involvement with ECIA and what have you gained from your engagement with the association?
I am honored to say that I chaired ECIA’s “Bucking Normal” Executive Conference in 2022, the first in-person conference after the Covid pandemic. Today, I remain active in Executive Conference planning on the core committee and speaker vetting committee. I also serve on the Manufacturer Council and ECIA Foundation. My continued engagement has unlocked the true “power of association” for me. Beyond the obvious networking opportunities, the exclusive resources available to me through ECIA allows me (and Crouzet) to maintain a competitive edge.
What does your company do and what is your role in your company?
Crouzet is a manufacturer of mechatronic components and a specialist in automating simple machines and processes. My position has evolved over 10+ years with the company – from re-establishing our sales and marketing presence in the Americas and developing a formal global distribution policy to my current focus: aligning company strategy with our independent manufacturers' representative partners.
What is your favorite thing about this industry?
I’ve met so many great people over the past 30+ years that it’s hard not to say “the people.” Nonetheless, the opportunity to connect with prospects, learn about their company’s projects and the technical needs, then align solutions that solve problems is extremely rewarding – whether done directly or in partnership with one of our valued distributors.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
My grandson stole my heart when he was born more than 4 years ago, and I love spending time with him as his D-Dop (it’s how he learned to pronounce G-Pop). We have a bit of a tradition developing; visiting a Disney park once a year. We do indoor rock climbing, snow tubing, you name it – he’s adventurous and fearless! Fitness is important to me as well. I regularly ride my road bicycle and I follow a regular stretching and push-up routine. Spending time and traveling with my wife is also a top priority.
Are you currently binging any shows on Netflix, Hulu etc?
I spend very little time watching anything on television, but the dart scene from Ted Lasso was so engrossing that I was eager to watch the first 3 seasons over the course of a couple of weeks this past fall.
