Faces of ECIA
The March Part One for the "Faces of ECIA" is JN Corman!
What is your involvement with ECIA and what have you gained from your engagement with the association?
I have been a member of the ECIA Manufacturer Council for the past two years and truly enjoy the interaction and exchange of ideas with colleagues from other companies. The broader the membership, the more interesting perspectives are brought to the table to be discussed and addressed together as a team. Even though we all work in the same industry, it’s interesting to learn about how others address issues that we all encounter. This experience represents the value of ECIA, learning from one another and developing best practices for the industry so that we can all save time and be more productive!
What does your company do and what is your role in your company?
Renesas is an embedded semiconductor solution provider driven by its purpose 'To Make Our Lives Easier.' As the industry’s leading expert in embedded processing with unmatched quality and system-level know-how, we have evolved to provide scalable and comprehensive semiconductor solutions for automotive, industrial, infrastructure and IoT industries based on the broadest product portfolio, including High Performance Computing, Embedded Processing, Analog & Connectivity, and Power. My role within Renesas is director of distribution for the Americas market, covering multiple broadline as well as eCommerce distributors. I have the pleasure of working with many great individuals within the marketing, sales and engineering departments, from many different companies located in the four corners of the Americas.
What is your favorite thing about this industry?
The people are my favorite for sure. There are so many dedicated and talented individuals throughout this industry. I also love the fast-paced environment which keeps me motivated to continue pushing forward. Lastly, it’s great to discover the wide range of end products where our technology is found, end products that you’d never think of!
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I really enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family, trying to stay in decent physical condition so that I can enjoy my eventual retirement, playing golf with friends, and trail running with our new Golden Retriever rescue.
Are you currently binging any shows on Netflix, Hulu etc.?
Being more of a sports fan, I’ve recently spent many early morning hours invested in the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
This feature is a great way to learn about the fantastic people behind the hard work from the GIPC, Board, councils and committees.
