ECIA Issues Critical Guidance on IEEPA Tariff Refund Process

Advisory Clarifies Complexity in Tariff Rebates

The Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA) has released an official industry advisory to clarify the complex landscape surrounding tariff rebates following the recent Supreme Court ruling on the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The guidance is designed to assist customers of the electronic components supply chain in navigating the multi-layered refund process.

The advisory highlights that while the IEEPA-authorized tariffs were found unconstitutional, other significant duties—including Section 301 and Section 232 tariffs—remain in full effect and are not eligible for refund.
